On Friday, May 1, 2026, Skyline College’s Career Services held a training workshop on resume building and networking for the Student Leaders at the Learning Center. Here, students learned the basics of resume building, networking, and then how to relay everything they learned from Ron Chand, a Community Engagement Liaison, to other students. This makes Student Leaders a great resource not only for academic support but also for career services, and if students need something more in-depth, they can be referred out to Career Services.

John Chew, an Instructional Aide from the Learning Center, has been working with Chand to incorporate more career readiness to make it a one-stop shop, as this will allow more accessibility for students who may have a heavily impacted schedule and need to traverse multiple offices. This just makes it easier for everyone involved and offers multiple pathways for student support. So, if students need help with homework and want a light refresher on best practices on what to put down on resumes, they can speak to a Student Leader.
