On Saturday, April 12, 2025, CARE/CalWORKs students and staff attended the 19th Annual Region III Student Conference hosted at the College of San Mateo. Themed “Love, Laughter, and Lessons: Unlocking the Joy in Your Journey,” the event centered on healing, growth, and reconnecting with joy through shared stories and community.

Our students left the conference feeling reenergized and supported after attending a series of powerful workshops focused on self-care, mindfulness, and empowerment. Each session offered practical tools and emotional encouragement—reminders that their well-being matters as much as their academic goals.
A standout moment was the keynote speaker, a student whose powerful story of perseverance deeply resonated with our group. Their testimony reminded us of the strength it takes to keep moving forward and the beauty of sharing our journeys.

This conference was more than just a day of learning—it was a space of belonging, hope, and renewal. Thank you to CSM for hosting such an impactful event and to everyone who showed up with open hearts. Our CARE/CalWORKs students returned inspired, uplifted, and reminded that they are never alone in their journeys.
