Students at Cal Grant Workshop
Students at Cal Grant Workshop

On August 29, 2013 the Financial Aid Office conducted its first ever Cal Grant 101 Workshop.  The workshop was facilitated by Financial Aid Technician, Jenny Yang. Jenny is the newest member of the Financial Aid Office and she brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise regarding the Cal Grant Program. Thirty three students attended the workshop and received valuable information. Funded by the State of California and administered by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), Cal Grants are one of the smartest ways for students to get free money to help pay for their college education. Cal Grants help make college more affordable. Students who attended the workshop received important information about the application process and deadline dates. They also received hands-on assistance with creating a “WebGRANTS for Students” account. WebGRANTS is where students can monitor the status of their Cal Grant Award.
