On April 15, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Skyline College hosted our second Community Conversations Event, bringing together more than 43 students and five staff members.

Present were TRIO/GSP/CalWORKs/EOPS/CARE/NextUP/Project Change, an engaging and open forum designed to foster meaningful dialogue among students and staff.
What started as a simple idea to bring students, staff, and faculty together turned into a lively, engaging afternoon full of good vibes, fresh ideas, and laughs. Shedding away the tension of approaching finals and the overall negative climate we are experiencing.
The gathering was an informal yet meaningful discussion, with students and staff engaging in open conversations. The staff encouraged students to share their academic journeys, personal challenges, and the impact of support programs on their success.
Students shared how crucial these categorical programs have been for financial aid, academic guidance, mental health support, and career planning. Staff from every program contributed insights and reinforced their dedication to student support.
As we look into the future, we see these Community Conversations Events as a key piece in providing a space to engage with students, build a strong sense of community and provide impactful support. We look forward to many more transformational conversations in the semesters to come!
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible!
