Skyline College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter demonstrated exceptional leadership and hospitality as co-host of the Nevada/California Fall Leadership Conference, held October 24-25, 2025, in Burlingame, California.

The chapter partnered with Cañada College this fall to support the NV/CA regional team to bring an inspiring and engaging leadership conference to the students. The Skyline chapter took on significant organizational responsibilities designing and printing badges for all attendees and managing the registration table. The chapter extends special thanks to Skyline College’s MCPR team for generously sponsoring attendee bags, adding a professional touch to the conference experience.

In a remarkable showcase of campus talent, the chapter sponsored three keynote speakers. Skyline’s very own Dr. Pia Walawalkar and Christian Sanchez presented alongside Pacifica local visual artist and writer Malik Selle. These dynamic presentations inspired students and advisors from across the region. Additionally, the chapter president Genevieve Caamal and chapter officer Brianna Khuu facilitated a well-received workshop on effective chapter meetings, sharing valuable insights on meeting structure and member engagement strategies.

Throughout the weekend, students and advisors participated in educational forums focused on professional development, competitive chapter strategies, and Hallmark project development. Attendees also received important updates directly from Phi Theta Kappa headquarters, ensuring chapters remain informed and connected to the Honor Society’s mission.

The conference wasn’t all business—the chapter took time during Saturday’s lunch break to celebrate the October birthdays of officers Knox Lwin, Jiaxuan Qian, and Cassandra Tae, demonstrating the strong bonds of fellowship that define the Phi Theta Kappa experience.

The successful execution of this regional conference reflects the Beta Theta Omicron chapter’s unwavering commitment to excellence and servant leadership.
