Our country is facing an existential crisis, with its perilous slide toward authoritarianism. It’ll take our collective effort and voice to counter this decline, with artists playing a significant role in giving voice to both our distress and hope. Among these artists is Skyline College’s own, Becky Threewit, who works in the Office of Planning, Research, Innovation and Effectiveness (PRIE). With echoes of The Handmaid’s Tale, her short story was among the 42 chosen for the anthology, America’s Slide Toward Authoritarianism, which was published by the International Human Rights Arts Movement (IHRAM). Their aim is to bring attention to urgent social justice issues around the world. This recent collection can be purchased directly from IHRAM.
