Over the summer, the preschool class at Skyline College’s Child Development Center hosted a BBQ in their yard! They invited some of their favorite people, including Skyline College’s librarians, facilities team, and public safety.

The children created a summer bucket list where they came up with things they wanted to complete during the summer. They had ideas like going on a hike, seeing the ocean, and visiting the “secret garden” (the small garden near the baseball field), among others. One idea on the list was to have a BBQ, and the children had planned for some time what to make, who to invite, where to have it, etc. It turned out to be an incredible time! Did they have nice sunny weather?

No, but it wouldn’t be our wonderful Skyline without it! And the children didn’t mind. They were having too much fun playing, eating yummy food, and seeing how the grill worked. Plus, all their favorite people were there! Many families were able to attend, as well as librarians, facilities team members, and public safety personnel. It was a wonderful moment to just hang out, enjoy wonderful food, and even better company! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. The Child Development Center hopes to create more moments and events like this in the future!
