Throughout March, the Psi Beta/Psych Club hosted a series of engaging presentations with some so popular that attendees were sitting on the floor!

Here’s a quick recap:

· Art & Psychology Collaboration: We kicked off March with a relaxing, creative event in partnership with the Skyline College Art Club. It was a great opportunity to unwind, make art, and connect with others.

· Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationships: Liz Llamas, one of Skyline’s Personal Counselors, gave an amazing presentation on relationships. She highlighted 10 characteristics of healthy relationships and 10 characteristics of unhealthy ones. Her statement “The path to wellness is awareness. It’s OK if you see yourself; then you can change things” really resonated with the group.

· Understanding PMDD: Club member Mia Sideris taught us about Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), a condition that affects millions but remains relatively unknown. She discussed symptoms, causes, and treatment options, and encouraged everyone to help spread awareness.

· East/West Psychology: We closed out the month with a presentation by Skyline Psychology Professor Christopher Branco, who shared insights into the field of East/West Psychology and his experiences studying at the Center for Integral Studies.

We also extend a special thank you to the Skyline College Library for partnering with us on the PMDD session. A big shout-out to Jessica Silver-Sharp, who not only attended our meeting but also recognized the lack of PMDD resources in the Library and promptly ordered books to expand the collection. Thank you for helping elevate awareness, Jessica!

Finally, thank you to all our presenters. Your contributions enrich our learning and deepen our understanding of the world around us.
