The Career Services Center celebrated Afican American Heritage Month on February 12, by hosting a career workshop, “Career Pathways: African American Perspective.” Alex Jones, a Career Counselor in Workability, Brian Jenney, the Career Counselor Resource Aide, Pcyeta Jackson, a Program Resource Coordinator and Timothy Dupre, an instructor at Skyline College, discussed their personal experiences as African Americans in higher education and through their career paths. The presentations regarding their personal career pathways were both inspiring and heartfelt. The individual challenges each speaker endured helped them develop the perseverance needed to pursue their academic and career goals.
Students were invited to ask questions to speakers and were hopefully inspired to pursue their own dreams both in and outside the classroom.
