The UCSF Health & Skyline College Respiratory Care Symposium: Novelties in Respiratory Care 2025 was a testament to the collaborative efforts of the UCSF Medical Center, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, and the Skyline College Respiratory Care program. This symposium was specifically designed for respiratory care professionals, providing a platform for them to stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in the field. The event brought together experts and practitioners to share knowledge, experiences, and insights, making it a valuable experience for all attendees.

The event featured six presentations from esteemed speakers, covering topics such as lung protection, respiratory muscle strength training, pulse oximetry, and pediatric ventilator management. One of the highlights of the symposium was the lecture by Brian Daniel, Director of Clinical Education for Skyline College’s Respiratory Care program. In his talk, “Breath of Fresh Evidence: Forging Clinical Pathways to Respiratory Care Mastery,” Daniel offered a compelling exploration of the latest evidence-based strategies for achieving respiratory care mastery, providing attendees with research on informed practice and experiential learning.
The symposium provided a unique opportunity for respiratory care alumni and professionals to network, share ideas, and learn from each other. Attendees took advantage of the breaks and lunch to connect with peers, meet with vendors, and discuss best practices, making the most of their time at the symposium.
