What Do You Need to Know Before You Start a Business?

BAEC_LOGO_horizontalTo kick off 2015 the BAEC is hosting a series of workshops targeting the budding entrepreneur. Join us on Wednesday, January 28 from noon -1 p.m. as we share information about what you need to think about to start your own business. Our own Catherine Fraser, a serial entrepreneur and educator, will be the presenter. Bring your questions and learn from her experience as a business owner!

SparkPoint at Skyline College Food Pantry Holiday Giveaway

food bank adSparkPoint at Skyline College, in partnership with Pacific Dining and Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, distributed over seventy turkeys, thirty five chickens, and 140 gift cards in November and December.  These items were distributed to students and members of the community for the holiday season.  A very special thank you to Rick McMahon and Hugo Ramos for providing the space to store the items.  SparkPoint at Skyline College hopes everyone had wonderful holiday!

Veterans Resource Center Welcomes New Program Services Coordinator

Gina CiardellaPlease join us in welcoming Gina Ciardella to the position of Program Services Coordinator for the Veterans Resource Center.

Gina comes to Skyline College from San Jose State University where she served as an Academic Advisor, providing educational, personal and career counseling to students in the College of Science including Veteran, International and Transfer students.

Prior to her role at SJSU, Gina served as a Program Services Coordinator in Workforce Development at Skyline College.  In addition, she has worked for the San Mateo County Human Services Agency in the Workforce Development division.  She received her A.A. Degree in General Education from the College of San Mateo, B.A. Degree in Psychology from UC Davis and M.A. degree in Education/Counseling and Student Personnel from San Jose State University.

Gina is excited to join the Skyline College Enrollment Services team and looks forward to serving the Veteran student population.
